Tony Bates Appointed Chair of Trustees

Alan has been a dedicated and valued Chair, providing leadership, guidance and unwavering support to our work. Throughout his tenure, he has helped strengthen the charity’s fundraising efforts, championed key initiatives including our match funding campaign and played an important role in raising awareness of the support available to grieving children, young people and families. A passionate advocate for our mission, Alan has supported the charity’s continued growth and development. His commitment, insight and advocacy have helped shape the organisation’s progress, ensuring that more grieving children and young people can access the vital support they need.

While Alan is stepping down as Chair, we’re delighted that he will continue to support The Children’s Grief Charity as a Trustee. We are incredibly grateful for his ongoing commitment to our vision.

Appointed Chair in July, Tony brings extensive charity governance and leadership experience, having chaired organisations including KidsAid and Northamptonshire Mind. We look forward to working with him as we continue our mission to ensure grieving children, young people and families receive the support they need following the death of someone close.
