A beautiful Day Connecting with Nature and Memories

This month, The Children’s Charity Southwest welcomed families to a peaceful and joy‑filled nature day at Avon Woods, a day spent outdoors in remembrance of loved ones and in celebration of healing together.
Families revisited the young trees planted earlier this year and were amazed by how much they’ve grown in just a few months. From bug hunting and wildlife spotting to creating stunning wax crayon rubbings and a colourful nature mandala featuring our beloved nature bunny, it was a day full of joy and creativity.
A special highlight was hanging notes to loved ones on our newly named Grief Encounter Memorial Oak Tree, which is free for all families to visit!
We are deeply grateful to our wonderful volunteer Ali, who supported families throughout the day, and to Vicky and Martin, who generously hosted us at Avon Woods. Their care and dedication helped create a truly special experience for everyone who attended.
