Real Voices, Remarkable Impact

Ahead of Children’s Grief Awareness Week, The Children’s Grief Charity launched its first matched funding campaign, ‘Ease The Pain’, raising an incredible £707,500 to support its vital services.
At the heart of the campaign were the powerful stories of Luca and his grandad, Peter, shared after the death of Luca’s mum and Peter’s daughter, and of Ethan, who spoke movingly about the death his mum. Both Luca and Ethan received support from Grief Encounter, and by writing letters to their loved ones, they expressed feelings often too difficult to say out loud.
“The Children’s Grief Charity have been such a help to us. They’ve arranged professional counselling for Luca to help him process what he’s been through.” Peter
“The Children’s Grief Charity arranged a weekend break with other children who had lost their mums and dads. It was nice to be with these kids.” Luca
These deeply personal letters were brought to life in our campaign film, helping to shine a light on the often unseen reality of childhood grief.
